Dusting off my board!

On Friday the 16th of Jan. I finally went snowboarding. Justin's sis. Adrianne and I went to Brighton. Once we decided to go that was all I could think about. I hadn't been in 5 years so I was nervous about not remembering how and I was excited because I love it. I don't know what I was so nervous about, it was so fun! And I didn't even wreck too bad. I am so mad that I forgot to take my camera with me, because it was such a perfect day to be in the Mountains. The sky didn't have a cloud in it and the weather was so warm for snowboarding. We only went a 1/2 day which was good, I am so out of shape. Sorry I don't have any pictures, maybe next time. I hope I can go again this season.
This picture was taken on Feb. 14, 2004 at Brighton Ski resort. That was the last time I went snowboarding. Back row: Kamey, Fletcher, me, Justin; Front: Nate, Kalley

big elk

In the one of my first posts when I put our year in a nut-shell I forgot to tell about Justin's elk that he got. He had waited 8 years to draw out for that particular tag and he got his elk the 2nd to the last day of the hunt. At first I told Justin that he couldn't have the head mounted and it certainly wasn't going in our house. I was talking to our neighbor and he was telling me how that elk tag is a 'once in a lifetime' thing to happen. So then I felt bad. So we are getting the head mounted. As to where we will put it when it is done??? Well, I think we will need a bigger house.
Have you ever wondered what your kids are doing at night to get bed-head? The entire back of Lexie's head was a big rats nest of hair. I thought that maybe I might need to get the scissors out. Thank goodness for leave in conditioner. She actually was good to just sit while I combed out her hair.

Heavenly Weather

December 27th - 31st Justin's mom (lynn) and his two sisters (Jenni & Adrianne) and I went to Palm Springs for a nice girls vacation. It was part of Lynn's Christmas present to us all. It was the best!! We stayed with Justin's Uncle Mark and he spoiled us like crazy. His house is so beautiful I felt like we were staying at a resort. It was so awesome to leave the cold and snow in Utah and go to 75` weather in California. One of the things we got to do was go to the Living Desert which is a zoo in the desert. That zoo made Hogle Zoo look like a dump. The animals all looked so clean and healthy. We also did lots of lounging by the pool at Uncle Mark's house.

Santa Visits

Christmas was so much fun! I love to watch the kids get so excited and have fun with all of their new toys. We didn't do too much on Christmas day other than go to Justin's mom and dad's house when the kids were done opening presents. For Christmas dinner we had it at our house for all of my family. I love having everybody together, it feels more like Christmas. After dinner I noticed that my youngest sis. Jodi had a pretty, shiny ring on her special finger on her left hand. YES! my sis got engaged on Christmas day to an awesome guy named Dave. They are going to get married in June.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas eve we decided we would try a new tradition, we went sledding at Justin's mom & dad's house. It was fun. I even rode on the tube. Justin tried to dump me off by going fast, but it didn't work. I tried to make him fall off too, that also didn't work. The kids had fun, I think they would have stayed out all night.
Lexie was so bundled she could
hardly move.

Kamey, you talked me into it. I will try and blog on a regular basis. Since the last time I even tried anything with this blog was in April, I will give everyone a quick overview of the past year. Lexie's poor hands
In April Lexie burned her hands really bad on our 4-wheeler. We ended up having to take her to the burn unit at the U of U hospital in Salt Lake. It was so sad to see her in so much pain, and I hated that there wasn't anything I could do to make it stop. Luckily everything turned out OK with her hands. There is just a little bit of scarring, but that will fade as time goes by. In June I broke my leg! Have you ever tried to take care of 2 little kids while on crutches? Well, it doesn't work. My mom came up to my house and stayed with me for about a week. And my sisters and Justin's sisters live close by so they would bring dinner and clean my house. It was nice to have the help, but I hated just lying on the couch doing nothing. Although, as I was lying on the couch with ice on my leg I was able to read all 4 of the Twilight books for the 2nd time.
My broken leg.
Caden started preschool in July. It is through our school district so he rides the bus to the school. At first it was hard to see my little boy leave, but then I got used to the break and being able to spend some one-on-one time with Lexie.

Justin got another promotion, earlier in the year, to be a Superintendant for Staker & Parsons. That is a nice job for him, it has a lot of perks. The down side is the stress he has for being in charge of so much.
