Sleeping Beauty

So, where do you like to sleep?? What, in your bed...me to. Well, before you decide that you like to sleep in your bed take a look at some of Lexie's recommendations. You just may change your mind. In the morning when Justin wakes up he checks on the kids. One particular morning he couldn't find Lexie. PANIC! Where did she go??? Not in her room... On the couch? No. In Caden's room? No. He then hears a faint snore in our room, coming from UNDER our bed. (We have a bed skirt so we couldn't see her.) Justin lifted up the bed skirt and there she was, sound asleep. She even took a pillow with her. Are you converted yet? Still no? Well..... How about on a spacious and comfy bar stool? Poor kid. She barely made it through eating her dinner before she was out. Before you make your decision, Lexie has one last recommendation... The cold, hard, dirty tile floor in the kitchen. You can even use a pillow! AND, you can have "baby jaguar" and "sammy" to snuggle with.
Yea, I think I will stick with my soft, warm, big bed!

1st Hair Cut

Lexie is 2 1/2 and is just now getting her first hair cut. It is crazy to look at her hair color now(blonde) compared to when she was born (black). The bottom of her hair was all fuzzy and uneven so I had my personal hairdresser give her a trim.
Before
After Here is my own, personal hairdresser hard at work. She will probably be mad that I put a picture of her on my blog. hehe.

Camping Again

Over Labor Day weekend we went camping with my family again. We had debated about going or not because the weather forecast included rain everyday. We went anyway and it only rained twice for about 10 minutes. I am glad we went. On the second day of camping we went on a LONG, LONG 4-wheeler ride. When we got almost to the top of a steep, narrow, rocky trail we found out the trail was blocked off at the top due to an accident. Some people were turning around; I didn't want to head back down that crazy trail. We went to the top to see what was going on. We are nosey, I know. But hey, we weren't the only nosey ones. There were tons of people that had the same idea as us. We found out that life flight was going to be landing and we wanted to watch it. So we waited and waited and waited.....finally what seemed like 2 hours later life flight came. It was so neat to watch a helicopter that close to us. I don't know how badly injured the accident victim was, I hope he is OK.
Everybody is so patiently waiting. Believe it or not, the kids didn't mind waiting either. Why can't they be that patient at church??

CaRnIvAl

Our yearly town carnival is over. The kids look forward to it, but the parents, on the other hand, don't. We usually go on family night when the rides are cheaper. We also go early in the evening when it is supposed to be less crowded. This year it was way busy, which makes for a nightmare when you have little kids in tow. We lost one child for a minute, but it seemed like forever! I hate that feeling.
Driving the "monster trucks" was a favorite of the boys'.
Here is Lexie on her cousin's back. This cousin is absolutely the SWEETEST kid ever! Lexie couldn't quite climb up the net so her cousin, at the bottom, bent down and had Lexie climb on her back. Then she climbed up the net with Lexie. I just LOVE her.

Soccer Player

We signed Caden up for soccer this year. It has turned out about how I expected. He doesn't quite understand the concept of the game, and it is hard for him to just use his feet. But those little kids are so DARN CUTE!! I love their oversized uniforms and that they all just run around in a group and try to kick the ball no matter where it goes. And goals.....what goals? It is pretty entertaining and a great experience for the kids.
That is a soccer shirt not a soccer dress ;)

My mind is blank for a clever title.....

So it has been a while since I posted last. A few things have happened since then and I have been either busy or just plain lazy to blog.
If you read about our ER trip with Caden; well, I guessed the bill would be $200 plus bucks. YEA RIGHT! I guessed WAY low! Thank goodness for insurance and the health reimbursement plan through Justin's work.
I have also finished my biology class. You may or may not care what grade I got, but I am going to share anyway because I am SO happy. I wanted an 'A' in biology so bad and I got it!! For the fall semester I am taking HIST 1700 (because, OF COURSE the history classes I took at CEU weren't the RIGHT history classes.) and NUTR 1020. Hopefully I can do as well in these two
classes.
One weekend we went to Fish Lake to stay at the cabin. It is a nice and relaxing place to be.
I counted how many stairs there were to get to and from the cabin. But, I forgot. I think there are around 70.
One Sunday we went to sacrament meeting and then skipped out on the rest of church and went to Park City with Justin's family. It was pretty hot up there, for being in the mountains. We had fun and the kids did too. Lexie's favorite was the alpine slide. Caden's favorite was the alpine coaster. Justin and I went on the zip line for the first time, and I have to admit I was nervous to go. But it ended up being lots of fun.
We went to Fish Lake again but took our trailer instead. Justin's family takes a camping trip every year when the cherries (from the orchard) are done. Lexie had been sick earlier in the week but she was better by the time we went and nobody else had gotten sick so we thought we were in the clear. Our first night Caden threw up about a million times. Seriously, I lost count. Thankfully we had the cabin close by so we could go there and do some laundry. Throughout the night with Caden puking we used up all our blankets and all his jammies. We stayed camping anyway. Caden just slept the whole time.
This is how Caden spent most of his camping trip :(
I can't forget another important milestone. Lexie is potty trained!!! My diaper bill has dropped considerably. She only wears diapers at night.
